Welcome to Authur. Your privacy is paramount to us. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your information when you use our mobile application. By using Authur, you agree to the terms outlined in this policy.

2. Information We Collect

We are committed to minimizing data collection. We only collect information essential for the app to function.

Authentication Data: We use Google Sign-In to authenticate you. We collect your basic profile information (such as your name and email address) provided by Google. We do not store your Google password.

Calendar Data: With your explicit permission, Authur reads your Google Calendar data (events, titles, times, and descriptions) to generate your daily audio summaries.

App Data: All other data generated by your use of the app—such as your task completion status, voice preferences, and settings—is stored locally on your device. We do not store this personal activity data on our servers.

3. How We Use Your Information

Your data is used strictly to provide and improve the core functionality of Authur:

  • To generate your personalized daily audio briefings and evening debriefs.
  • To authenticate you securely and maintain your account.
  • To improve the app's performance and user experience through anonymized, aggregated analytics.

4. Data Storage and Security

Local Storage: Your task data, completion status, and app preferences are stored exclusively on your device. This means we cannot access it, and it remains in your control.

Secure Servers: Your authentication data (from Google) is stored on secure servers. Your calendar data is processed in a temporary, encrypted session to generate your audio summary and is not permanently stored on our servers after processing.

Data Encryption: We use industry-standard encryption (SSL/TLS) to protect data in transit between your device and our services.

5. Data Sharing and Disclosure

We do not and will never sell your personal data to third parties. We only share your information in the following limited circumstances:

  • With Your Consent: For example, when you choose to connect your Google account.
  • For Legal Reasons: If required to do so by law or in response to a valid legal request.

6. Third-Party Services

Authur integrates with Google APIs (Google Sign-In and Google Calendar). Your use of these services is governed by Google's Privacy Policy, which we encourage you to review. We only request the minimum permissions necessary for the app to function.

7. Your Rights and Choices

You have full control over your data:

  • Access and Correction: You can view and manage the data we access via your Google account settings.
  • Deleting Your Account: You can request the deletion of your Authur account and all associated data at any time. To do this, please email us at support@authurai.com or visit authurai.com/support. Upon verification, we will permanently delete all your data from our servers.
  • Revoking App Access: You can revoke Authur's access to your Google data at any time through your Google Account security settings.

8. Data Retention

We retain the authentication information (your email and name) for as long as your account is active. You can request deletion at any time (see Section 7). Calendar data is not retained on our servers after processing.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new policy on this page and updating the "Last Updated" date.
